Curriculum
Academics
TCS abides by all graduation requirements established by the State of North Carolina and admission requirements established by the University System of North Carolina.
Kindergarten
Kindergarten is an exciting time of exploration and growth where your child’s motor coordination increases, as well as his or her sense of independence, self-reliance, and self-confidence. As the year progresses, kindergarteners are expected to complete assignments with less outside help, take on more responsibilities, and follow rules more accurately.
Elementary Academics
Trinity Christian School is proud to offer an elementary program led by an exceptionally talented and experienced faculty, dedicated to nurturing the next generation. Our passionate teachers focus on character development while providing a diverse array of educational experiences designed to engage and inspire. We utilize top-tier curricula from Abeka and Bob Jones University Press, ensuring a solid academic foundation. Through this balanced curriculum, students enhance their higher-level thinking skills, enriched by activities such as physical education, music, art, computer, library studies, as well as exciting field trips, and weekly messages from talented local chapel speakers. We create a vibrant learning environment where home, school, and church work in harmony to provide a solid biblical education. At Trinity Christian School, your child will flourish academically and spiritually, preparing them for a successful future!
Middle School Curriculum
At Trinity Christian School, our middle school curriculum is thoughtfully designed to foster a love of learning and personal growth, as students get ready for high school. We utilize high-quality resources from Bob Jones University Press, Abeka, Positive Action, and Clairmont Press, ensuring a well-rounded education that integrates biblical principles with academic excellence. In addition to core subjects, our students have the opportunity to explore their interests through a variety of electives, including creative writing, art, choir, drama, Spanish, physical education, and computer studies. This diverse curriculum not only enhances critical thinking and creativity but also encourages students to develop their unique talents and skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
High School Curriculum
Spiritual and academic growth in high school is supported by a program that emphasizes self-discipline, respect for authority, love for God and country, compassion for others, honesty, and reliability. While maintaining a structured and disciplined environment, the program also offers extracurricular opportunities for students to express their opinions and develop independence. The primary curricula utilized are ABeka and Bob Jones University Press, both of which are centered on Christian principles. Students start learning of college and career opportunities beginning their freshman year, helping them develop a plans what career paths they would like to take.
Technology Curriculum
Grades 1-8: The Trajectory curriculum offers four comprehensive units each year, expertly designed by seasoned technology coordinators with extensive experience in teaching 1-6 computer literacy. Each unit encourages teachers to seamlessly integrate current classroom subjects, ensuring a cohesive academic focus. The curriculum is structured to spiral, allowing students to review and reinforce their skills as they progress from first through eighth grade.
For students in 1st through 4th grades, they focus on the Google Suite, learning Sheets, Forms, Docs, Slides, etc, preparing the students for near daily use of these in high school. For students in 5th through 8th grades, the Trajectory curriculum teaches essential computer skills utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite while incorporating classroom subjects and real-life scenarios into their projects. As students progress, projects become increasingly complex, yet the core technology objectives remain consistent, allowing students to build upon their knowledge year after year. Trajectory is built around a detailed technology scope and sequence, featuring over 350 learning objectives across 10 technology areas, including word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, graphic design, multimedia, and internet use. These objectives create a robust framework for a technology program that ensures consistency as students advance through grades. The curriculum is continually updated to incorporate emerging technologies, so by the time students reach 8th grade, they are proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
Discipleship
Bible is the major course of study in every grade at TCS and must be passed every year. We believe that basic to all knowledge and good character is the knowledge of God through Jesus Christ. We hold the Bible as our principal textbook, and we interpret other subjects in the light of the Scripture. Therefore, Bible study and Bible memory work are fundamental requirements of all students at Trinity Christian School.
Career & College Promise
Unlock your future with TCS! Students have a wonderful opportunity to join the Career and College Promise program at Pitt Community College. Designed for high school Juniors and Seniors, CCP is a dynamic dual enrollment program that allows you to earn college credit while completing your high school diploma. Trinity is unique in that students can get high school credit for college classes taken at PCC (two per semester). This allows students to condense their education, creating time to experience shadowing or work opportunities during their senior year. Take online classes or attend courses at PCC, all while preparing for your next steps in education and beyond. Don’t miss out—empower your future with TCS and CCP!
